I loved the article where the locksmith company told about how they developed from "fabbro erraio" to "metacostruttore". Hard to decide t is because of the lack of market demand (due electronic locks/cards/signalisation systems the locksmith work, requiring high manual skills, became less popular). I loved the question because... somewhere in the past there was a locksmith... (I still do have a special and useful tool and I was taught how to use it if my lock is broken... R.I.P. he shall be in heaven)

Grazie ma quando parlano di barriere di protezione non intendono le barriere di sicurezza (guardrail) delle strade. Sicuramente c'è un nome specifico per i tecnici che fanno quel lavoro

locksmith è fabbro ma non ho mai sentito di fabbri che lavorino sulle strade per riparare le barriere di sicurezza (guardrail). Vedrai che c'è un nome specifico per serrurerie. Ma grazie

all the production of the road signs and their repair etc. "maintenance work on cantonal roads" is related to locksmiths. they do not just metal work but metal repair too. "serrurerie" I do not know what is a locksmith in Italian.

This is very serious metal work according to the road standars. They do/change/renew road signs. The road signs shall be very durable and fixed, otherwise (for example, incase of a strong wind/snow/extreme weather conditions) they shall not fall on to road/cars. Same applies for road safety barriers (barriere di sicurezza). they consist from large metal parts which shall be sealed (and/or sometimes screwed) on the site.
