Le musée des voitures à cheval

Les voitures à cheval que tu découvres ici ne datent pas de la Renaissance. Elles ont été construites en 1873.

Asker: Si però anche le altre sono carrozze e non si può dire che la carrozza sia un tipo di vettura più antica e lussuosa, carrozza è un termine davvero generico che include il calesse come la berlina.

Asker: Inoltre "vettura a cavalli" è pochissimo usato come termine (circa 50 su Google) per cui ho usato "carrozza" (più di 400.000 su Google) per "voitures à cheval". Grazie comunque

agree  Shabelula: il calesse è molto piccolo e tirato da un cavallo o un asino, aperto, mai chiuso col tettuccio, ma non è affatto un termine dialettale. Non userei vettura a cavalli per il calesse, perché vettura ha il senso di portare piu' persone ed è un mezzo elegante

Explanation:
calèche = calesse ( è un termine che si usa al sud dell'Italia e i calessi sono esistiti fino alla seconda guerra mondiale )

berline = berlina, inteso come vettura di una certa portata, come si usa per le auto di oggi, anche se prima c'erano i cavalli.
La carrozza sta a metà strada fra il calesse e la berlina.

Explanation:
Il problema è che in italiano carrozza è termine generico, mentre in francese è specifico: quelle vetture si chiamavano "carrosse" nel XVII secolo e "berline" nel XVIII. Forse potresti essere più chiara aggiungendo "In Francia", tipo: "In Francia, le carrozze erano veicoli utilizzati in un'epoca precedente/più antica..."
