Cari colleghi, qualcuno di voi conosce la traduzione italiana di questa tecnica?
Ho trovato la definizione francese: On appelle parfois peinture à l'essence une technique où la peinture à
l'huile est fortement diluée à l'essence, ce qui peut donner des effets de gouache ou d'aquarelle. Degas et Toulouse-Lautrec employèrent parfois ce procédé.
Ho trovato poi questa spiegazione in italiano: Pittura ad olio : pittura composta di pigmenti colorati mescolati con olio. Questa pittura si diluisce con benzina (acqua ragia o etere di petrolio).
Non credo che sia la stessa cosa.

Explanation:
Si che é la stessa cosa! Ma in italiano é strano dire "pittura alla trementina / acqua ragia / etc". Si dice piuttosto "pittura ad olio (molto diluita)". Siccome l´olio viene diluito in trementina, non c´e bisogno di especificarlo, anche se puoi farlo se non ti sembra che sia chiaro.

  -> La tecnica e sempre pittura ad olio. Ma in questo caso, l oilo viene molto diluito. Pittura alla trementina sarebbe una imprecisione: in realta e pittura ad olio molto diluita in trementina.
