to have a lump in one's throat ; to feel suffocated by fear,etc. Explanation: I think what you heard is "خناق گرفتم" (khonnâq gereftam). حناق (honnaq) or خناق (khonnaq) is an old word for "diphtheria". خناق گرفتن is an idiom with a couple of meanings: - to remain silent - to feel suffocated by a strong emotion like fear, etc. |
