Job creation and gifted persons' affairs office Explanation: What comes from the phrase and your explanation that it is from the university might suggest that the "estedadhaye Derakhshan" are university students who are gifted. Hence one can use gifted students' affairs rather than gifted person's affairs. The choice is yours depending on the context. |

Office of Job Creation and Exceptional Talents Explanation: http://nodet.net/Azmon/map.asp -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 days (2008-02-02 19:02:51 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I have been doing a little research on this item, and have reached several conclusions. 1) Maybe someone wanted to translate "entrepreneurship" into Persian by using "karafarini". Aryanpur (1385 one volume concise edition) lists it, but the Ayranpur one volume of 1382 (24th printing) does not. Aryanpur website does not list it. Narcis CD has it under "ravanshenasi". So, it seems to be a neologism within the past few years. 2) From the number of "agrees" here it seems that many Persian speakers would not understand this to be the meaning. "Job creation" as a translation for "karafarini" seems to be perfect, since, at least in English, it is a very commonly used phrase, and there are many offices devoted to job creation. 3) If the daneshgah meant "entrepreneurship" the two most important parts of the meaning of entrepreneurship are missing if we use a word like "karafarini" which can also be translated as "job creation" and those are 1) initiative and 2) the acceptance of risk. I don't know how we could translate this into Persian with only one word. Any suggestions? 3) Without more information, it is impossible to know what the daneshgah actually meant by using "karafarini". The asker will have to choose. |
