Apparently, Serendib is, or was, name of Sri Lanka in Farsi. Please could you write it in Farsi script.

Is it still used, please? Incidentally, is anything known about its derivation?

Actually, I have personally not heard about this as a Farsi word for Sri Lanka. This country is known as is in Farsi and is written as سریلانکا

Serendib, as you said, is the Arabic version of this word and is written as سرندیب
