Christian Explanation: "neshin" is used with words like "sheikh" or "amir" to mean sheikhdom or emirate...but in this case it is better not to translate it at all...the sentence in English simply means " a new Christian country..." that is, a country where the majority happen to be Christian. Using "dominated" implies that Christianity controls the country, which is not the case. Since we are not talking about political domination but rather numerical preponderance, I think we could perhaps say "a predominantly Christian country", perhaps. Syria is a predominantly Sunni country but is dominated by its Alawi minority according to many sources I have read.
