براي تحليل پايداري مغار نيروگاه زيرزميني سد مسجدسليمان نياز به اطلاعات كامل در مورد زمين‌شناسي، شرايط تكتونيكي و خواص ناپيوستگي‌ها وتوده‌سنگ در برگيرندة سازه است. جهت نيل به اين هدف مطالعات صحرائي و برداشت درزه‌ها از يك تونل اكتشافي كه موازي محور مغار نيروگاه حفر شده انجام گرفت. نتايج مطالعات صحرائي نشان مي‌دهد كه چهار دسته درزه با ميانگين فاصله‌داري 2 تا 4 متر ويك صفحة لايه‌بندي در ساختگاه وجود دارد. در اين تحقيق همچنين آزمايش‌هاي برجا و آزمايشگاهي جهت تعيين خواص فيزيكي و مكانيكي سنگ‌هاي ساختگاه مغار بعمل آمد. بررسي نتايج آزمايش‌ها نشان مي‌دهد كه رس‌سنگ با مقاومتي برابر 25 مگاپاسكال و كنگلومرا وماسه‌سنگ با مقاومتي برابر با 60 مگاپاسكال بترتيب ضعيف‌ترين و قوي‌ترين سنگ‌هاي منطقه مي‌باشند، اما مدول الاستيك كنگلومرا بمراتب بيشتر از ماسه‌سنگ‌ و ديگر سنگ‌هاي منطقه است.
:Abstract
In order to analyze the stability of Masjed Soleyman underground powerhouse cavern detailed information regarding geological, tectonic and mechanical properties of discontinuities and rocks are needed. With this respect field investigations were carried out in an exploratory tunnel which was excavated parallel to cavern axis. The study shows that there are four joint sets with an average spacing of 2 to 4 meters and a bedding plane in the area. Laboratory and in situ tests were also carried out in order to determine the physical and mechanical properties of rocks encountered. The results show that mud stone with strength of 25 MPa and conglomerate and sand stone with strength of 60 MPa are the weakest and strongest rocks in the area. However the elastic constant of conglomerate is higher than sand stone and other rocks.
