babysitting/sitting Explanation: http://www.redcross.org.uk/What-we-do/Teaching-resources/Tea... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 22 mins (2011-10-22 11:36:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- If you notice my level of confidence, you'll find that I was not sure about my answer! Anyway, one word may have two or more equivalent in another language. I thought it would be the same as پرستاری کودک, so I used babysitting. If it conveys the meaning of کودک یاری, you don't need to use another translation for پرستاری کودک in case it has been used during the rest of the text. |

It's rarely (not rearely) used. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-10-22 12:28:52 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Another textual example: Given the importance of childhood and the speed of learning and taking children from their surroundings, the people who train their children based on scientific principles and practical care and to maintain and promote physical and mental health of children act, the string childcare design Its graduates have been able to counsel in these matters vital role to play well and promises a healthy and vibrant community, are vibrant and lively. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-10-22 12:33:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The text has been translated terribly, but what is of great importance here is that کودکیاری has been translated to "childcare". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-10-22 12:42:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Collins Cobuild Dictionary, Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (4th Ed), in the definitions to this term in these dictionaries it is written (Brit), which means that this term is used mainly in British English; This is while you mhave mentioned that you need an American English term. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-10-22 12:52:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- As I mentioned earlier, it has been translated terribly; but when you compare the term and the definitions in the sources (dictionaries) I mentioned, you come to the conclusion that this term, not the whole text, has been translated correctly. Meanwhile, I have seen the Persion text too. This is all I could say. |
