جام جم در جام

At first Jamejam was known as Jame Keykhosrow, but later on as it is believed it was referred to as Jamejam because of some reasons: 1. Because Jam (or Jamshid) was more famous than Keykhosrow, 2. there was a close resemblance between Jamshid and Soleyman (or Salomon) the prophet, and 3. the eppearance of wine is atributed to Jamshid.
There are poems that resemble Jamejam to Ayine Eskandar (sometimes called ayine sekandar), as Hafiz says:
آينه سكندر جام مي است بنگر
تا بر تو عرضه دارد احوال ملك دارا
Translation:
The cup of wine is Sikandar's mirror. Behold,--
So that it may show thee the state of Dara's Kingdom.
As you can see the word Jamemey is trnslated as the cup of wine, but in fact it can refer to Jamejam, because it is beleived that Jamshid discovered wine.
And finally the third Jam in the phrase (jamejam dar jam) also means cup.

If we take apart the comprising parts of the word, we can see that the first part, i.e Jame Jam or jamejam is consisted of three parts:
Jam (the letter «a» is pronounced as a in car) + e
+ Jam (pronounced as the English word jam).
The first JAm means cup, e means of, and the second Jam refers to Jamshid (one of Iranian kinigs).
The word Jamejam is also referred to as Jame jahan nama, Jame giti nama, Jame jahan bin, Jame Keykhosrow (also one of Iranian kings).
As you can see the second Jam is an abbreviated form of Jamshid, (so Jame Jamshid).
The word Jamejam as a whole was used in the past by poets and writers to refer to a cup full of wine or pure wine. It was a especial kind of cup which reflected the whole world (including stars), It was a means of prophesy Just like AYINE ESKANDAR (meaning Ekandar's or Alexander's mirror, which was a huge mirror showing ships nearing the coast from a large distance).
