Persian (Farsi) term or phrase: What have you brought on yourself?
Greetings,

I.e.
What have you brought on yourself? / What have you got yourself involved in?

This is meant as a kind of despairing question.
Someone has got involved with an obviously dishonest and untrustworthy member of the opposite sex and is heading for big trouble, which it is probably too late to stop – he might even end up in prison.

The original Persian sounded a bit like this: che baalaa-ye sar e khodet bordid.

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

Many, many thanks! I'm so glad I asked as I felt sure I had heard rightly, but as it turns out there was a small but important difference.
