Persian (Farsi) term or phrase: ناودان
Greetings,

I've been making enquiries about the exact meaning of ناودان but have not managed to clear up the matter completely.

Please see the following:
http://hexcolor.biz/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Roofing-Gutte...

If you look closely, you will see that when it rains, the water will at first flow into the horizontal, open roof gutter along the edge of the roof, from where it will flow down through the vertical drain pipes. (Pipes are always closed and cannot be open as a gutter is.)

Is ناودان a roof gutter or a drain pipe, please?

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon
