English term or phrase: Seleucia on the Tigris
Greetings,

Please, what is the Turkish name of Seleucia on the Tigris? I think this is the original Seleucia, founded by Séleukos Nikátōr (Seleucus the Victor), one of Alexander the Great's generals and subsequently one of the Diadokhoi, "Successors".

Are all cities with the name ‘Seleucia’ known as ‘Silifke’ in Turkish, as is the case with the former Seleucia in Cilicia? Or do their modern Turkish names vary?

Best wishes, and many thanks,

Simon
