English term or phrase: coasting mode
Forward looking driving: If the traffic situation is changing – immediately take off your foot from the throttle. The vehicle is not spending fuel if it is rolling in coasting mode. This means, using the thrust energy as long as possible and let the vehicle roll. Not bringing the vehicle to standstill by monitoring the traffic. The most fuel is being used by drive away. Also the clutch is most stressed by this procedure (0-10km/h). Always keep enough distance to avoid the vehicle in front of you, otherwise it will force you to do the same he does.
