tragovi u rastinju ili vegetaciji? :-) Ili ste možda mislili "znači u rastinju ili vegeteaciji"? Ovo je malo je zbunjujuće, ne koristite naša karakteristična slova, jedan od vaših ponuđenih prevoda je bio "znaci". :-)
Da da, sam skroz prevideo da se pominje 'fen' u originalnom tekstu (mocvara?), tako da bi ovde moralo da bude to sto ste rekli, znaci u rastinju ili vegetaciji u mocvarama.

"Marks" se u svakom slučaju prevodi kao tragovi u ovom kontekstu, a da li će "crop" biti "žito", "usevi", "rastinje", "vegetacija" zavisi od toga šta raste na toj konkretnoj lokaciji. Obzirom da se u ovom konkretnom slučaju spominje "fens near Peterborough": http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fen : low land that is covered wholly or partly with water unless artificially drained and that usually has peaty alkaline soil and characteristic flora (as of sedges and reeds) čini mi se da bi možda bilo logičnije koristiti neki uopšteniji izraz kao npr. rastinje, vegetacija jer ne znamo tačno kakav je tu biljni pokrivač (ne piše u navedenom kontekstu), ne bih baš išla na žito/usevi.
Po meni, mrlje su nedefinisani oblici. Ako pogledate link koji sam priložila uz odgovor, videćete na par fotografija da su to obrisi ili konture građevina čiji se ostaci nalaze tik ispod površine zemlje. Ili potražite na guglu.

crop mark ovdje preveden s “mrlja”

Aha, sad sam ukapirao zasto tako mislite, povezali ste 'crop mark' sa terminom iz stamparske industrije - marks placed at the corners of a form to indicate where the page is to be trimmed.
Ja mislim da to nije to, nego da rec 'crop' ovde zapravo znaci 'usev' jer se ti obrisi pojavljuju u usevima i predstavljaju razlicitu visinu vegetacije zbog razlika u zemljistu koje se nalazi pod njima. Kao sto je prikazano i na drugoj slici na stranici vikipedije koju ste ostavili.
Takodje navode i 'soil marks" sto su razlike u boji zemljista zbog onog sto se nalazi ispod njega, 'frost marks' razlike u povrsinama pod ledom zbog onoga sto se nalazi ispod njih.
Da da, pogledao sam ovu viki stranicu i video sta su crop marks.. Samo mi npr 'obris' deluje nekako nepotpuno da bi bilo prevod.. Mozda 'obrisi u usevima' ako ste to mislili?
Da nisu samo 'znaci u usevima'? Posto 'crop circles' zovu 'krugovi u usevima'
