ad rem Explanation: Yes, 'ad rem' is the oppostie of 'ad hominem', i.e., 'pertinent, not evasive, to the point'. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2004-02-23 00:19:16 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Lit., \'to the thing (at issue)\'. \'To the point\' is perhaps the closest literal translation in Englsih. But \'ad rem\' is certainly the opposite of \'ad hominem\' in the parlance of logicians. |
