Jó lenne tudni, hogy a beállításnak milyen lehetőségei vannak, akkor egyértelmű lenne a dolog.
A hálózat mérete jelentheti a rákapcsolódó gépek számát, azt, hogy csak belső hálózat-e (intranet) vagy más külső hálózatokhoz is kapcsolódik-e (internet), hogy a hálózati adatátvitel milyen fizikai formában történik (csak kábel, vezeték nélküli is van benne, esetleg műholdas). Ezek másfajta működést, más paramétereket követelhetnek meg a hálózati kommunikációnál. Pl. adatküldés/fogadás időzítése, késések, hálózati szinkronizáció időzítése, stb. szempontjából.
Sajnos több szövegkörnyezet nélkül csak találgatni tudok.

Itt két eset valószínűségét látom. Vagy azt akarja beálltani, hogy hálózatra kössék és ne egyedülálló gépre, és ekkor ez a helyes kifejezés. Ha viszont, hogy hálózatra kötött mérlegek (pl. szupermarketek raktáraiban, csomagolóüzemekben) is vannak, amelyek a mért súlyt kinyomtatják, akkor a helyes kifejezés hálózatra kötött mérleg.
