Daher klingt auch der erste Link etwas nordisch.

Schnurwürmer rollen sich in Ruhestellung schneckenartig zusammen.
Als Nahrung verwerten sie in erster Linie Pflanzenreste, die zu Humusstoffen umgewandelt werden.
