In der kath. Theologie bedeutet GNADE: “unverdiente Vergebung, Barmherzigkeit und Gunst Gottes"

Dabei ist das "Leben in der Gnade" ein feststehender Begriff, den man z.B auch im Wortlaut des Taufsakraments findet:

In your context it seems to me, if you include 'dead' to be:
'man zählt nicht zu den Begnadeten'/ 'man gehoert nicht zum Kreis der Begnadeten'

\'im begnadeten Leben\' looks totally wrong in the box above; I stick by my suggestion including the word \'dead\' (which obviously should not appear as \'tot\' in your translation).
