Aus einem Buch über Logodesign: Professionalle Designer besprechen und kritisieren Logos von unterschiedlichen Designagenturen. Hier zwei Beispiele aus dem Originaltext:

"The lettering here is very elegantly done. The weights of the capitals are well balanced to the lowercase, and the missing dot and slices keep it from feeling too heavy in any one spot."

"A wonderfully drawn illustration with equally thoughtful type makes this a terrifi c mark. The ‘missing’ slices of the ‘S’ and ‘O’ are wider than we might normally expect—then it becomes evident they are echoing the letterspacing and helping lighten the color of the ligature so it doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the type area. I would slide the ‘l’ over a touch to the left to equalize its spacing between the ‘p’ and the ‘y.’ "

Muss aus der Zeit Gutenbergs stammen, ich hab's in einem alten techn. Wörterbuch gefunden und habe keine Ahnung was das ist.

disagree  Rolf Kern: Dieses Instrument für den traditionellen Schriftsetzer hat wohl nichts mit der grafischen Ausführung dieses Logos zu tun. Und dann noch die hohe Antwortsicherheit!
