English term or phrase: othering

It is, as Husserl says, experientially obvious that I and the other perceive the same thing, although my perceptions belong to me and the other's perceptions belong to the other (9/389). The world is immediately experienced as one and the same, although it appears to each experiencer in a particular way (3/60[55]). This OTHERING can serve as a leading clue for further investigation.

These are excellent resources. I myself had landed on the term Alterierung in Habermas and was trying to do Google searches with that term--but Veranderung (also spelled Ver-anderung) is indeed the correct answer! I appreciate your effort and extensive citations.

"Konstituierung des Anderen" is a good circumlocution but isn't precisely the term used in Husserl, Wittgenstein, Hegel, etc.
