Bus/Financial - IT (Information Technology) / online marketing platform
English term or phrase: Best-of-breed
This term appears in this sentence "X is a best-of-breed customer marketing platform".

The translator wrote "X ist eine branchenführende Kunden-Marketing-Plattform" which the client is not happy about as they believe 'best-of-breed' means something else than industry/sector leader.

The client's product is not bundled with other elements of corporate software; it's a stand-alone product/service. The client insists on using 'best-of-breed', even in German.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if this specific term can be used in German, and if so, how in the specific sentence?
Would "X ist eine best-of-breed Kunden-Marketing-Plattform" be okay? It just looks like a lot of hyphens ...

erstklassig
Explanation:
Actually the original translator's version seems perfectly fine to me. An alternative could be "erstklassig".

If the clients insists, of course you'll have to use Best-of-Breed. So it could be "Best-of-Breed Kunden-Marketingplattform", indeed a bit bulky. I guess it all depends on how open the client is to professional advice... (They are not always)

Explanation:
