"We are on the St Lucie River and I think only the local people come up here. It is like a jungle: there are no houses around here. It's going to be really nice. Look at the water right now, it's flat. I am pretty excited."/ This part of the St Lucie River is also called the Indian River, and it’s an authentic nature reserve – for plants as well as animals. Full of curiosity the wakeboarders prepare for their next session./ Conditions are ideal – not a breath of wind and plenty of sunshine. The river, which is in fact a small delta, is getting much narrower. The banks are dotted with magnificent properties and – where nature has taken over – the occasional alligator The Sainte-Lucie is brimming with fish, its surface lightly brackish. We are in the northern section of the river which is a protected area, and one of the best in the United States in terms of the variety of wildlife. |
