English term or phrase: basic thickness
Hello,

I need some help with the term "basic thickness" of a cylinder block.

Here ist the context:

"To reduce weight, the basic thickness of the cylinder block has been reduced from 3.5mm to 3.2mm."

Is the translation "Bodendicke" appropriate?

Thank you!

Mindestwandstärke
Explanation:

Grunddicke

Explanation:
A commun equivalent to use in translating basic ist Grund, and the result is as vague as basic thickness
