Sigurnosne zakrpe su obično mali instalacijski paketi koje proizvođač operativnog sistema ili neke aplikacije objavljuje kao reakciju na otkriveni propust. U tom se paketu nalazi ispravljena verzija dijela aplikacije u kojem se nalazi greška i kôd potreban da se staro rješenje zamijeni novim.
Korisnicima Microsoftovog operativnog sistema Windows najvažnije su zakrpe za sam operativni sistem određene verzije i za web-pregledač Internet Explorer. Također su važne sigurnosne zakrpe za alate kao što su osobni firewall i antivirusni program.

Andreja, you are right and that's why I put "sigurnosna" in aprenthess - sometimes the translation of patch has that adjective and sometimes it is not necessary.

Andreja Prevarek Agree with translation "zakrpa", but it is not necessarily safety; patch is term that describes bugs fixing in a consecutive version updates of a software application. I.e. almost each new version released have some bugs discovered and reported mostly by the users (after beta testers) - after that software developer fixes that bugs and releases the "patch" for that SW application.
