Explanation:
Taking or extracting blood (and subsequently proessing and splitting that sample) from the body is just part of the study process.

The goal is still to *use* and *analyze* those samples. I think the plain stuffs should be sufficient.

Sample here really refers to statistical concepts... So it's a "样本", more than a "标本".
