checkbox can be "复选框", if the choosing items are multiple, and you can select either one of them or several of them. Personally, I prefer “分选框”to “复选框/多选框”, because that latter implies the selection will consist of more than one item, where leaving out the single selection. In fact, we can choose either one or more than one item using “checkbox”, as we can choose which email to be deleted using the checkbox in front of each email. However, it seems that “复选框”,such usage is commonly accepted referring to “checkbox”. So I adopted it based on this common usage.
checkbox can be “全选框”, if all target items can be selected by clicking that checkbox.

Back to the context, the word “checkbox” in the questioned sentence, respectively refers to two things, the first one refers to “复选框”, the second one refers to “全选框”, that is why we should distinguish them in our translation as:

至于问题中特别指定的那个“the checkbox in the header row of that column“,就只能翻译成“全选框”。

Just a note regarding "name(s)", the checkbox next to their name, and the checkbox next to their names. It might imply a difference between these two situation depending on the actual program.
the former, implies that next to each name , there is a checkbox ( situation A)
the latter, implies that next to a group of names, those people might be within one team, so their names are grouped next to one checkbox. in this case, there is one checkbox next to their names ( as a group). ----- (situation B)

the questioned sentence, its meaning covers all possible situations: A or A+B or B

钩选框 ----generally refers to checkbox, either “复选框”or “全选框”.
however, to be clear and distinguish the difference, the questioned term in "checkbox in the header row of that column", it is better to have it translated as 全选框

Explanation:
