Explanation:
Insurance companies contract certain hospitals, clinics, and doctors to provide care for their clients. It allows preferential rates and quicker processing. So insurance companies furnish clients with list of those providers and determines that "Prefered Care" will be paid instantly, showing goodwill and encouraging clients towards it, while "Non-preferred Care" which unnecessarily went to hospitals "outside the network" have to be investigated. Many companies reject these claims outright if the care was not an emergency.
