Asker: thank you for your help, I know these expressions but i cannot put it into words in the target text. In the source text, it is an article written by thomas fried.man where he criticises Trump for fighting ISIS in Syria, and how it is weird of him to think that way.. anyhow He mentioned at the end that syria is not a knitting circle can I say it in a better way than these expressions because You have to localize your translation to fit your culture and it is not normal to find this expression in an article Do you understand my point of view? can i write it سوريا ليست حلبة مصارعة???

disagree  Arabic & More: Sorry, but these are not the images that come to mind. Please see my note above. Also, the women in the article you posted are... knitting. They are unusual only because they are young. Knitting is largely regarded as an old person's hobby.
