I know this is listed in V&B, but V&B doesn't provide an appropriate answer here. This short bit of text looks like what was missing text from a tourist attractions document. Sentence: En enestaende samling af fysiske apparater, samlet i tidsrummet 1790-1815 af kammerherre og hofmarskal Adam Wilhelm Hauch.
I've even seen one reference on Google, calling this man a 'gentleman scientist'. Does anyone know how such a title, i.e. kammerherre og hofmarskal is usually expressed in English, or are both words used for emphasis? Should it be Lord Chamberlain or something similar do you think? Titles often don't have an exact equivalent due to cultural differences anyway, of course.
