I never know what to suggest for this - Scandinavians like to describe styles as 'rå'

'en rå look' comes later, and then 'rå detaljer' (belts, pockets etc!)

-- and I cannot find an expression that covers it.

Raw is simply not the word in English, so please don't suggest that!
It is more a studied simplicity.

I am standing in for a colleague who is on holiday, and I usually only proofread her fashion texts!

Thanks in advance!

In your face
Explanation:
I interpret 'rå' to be equivalent to the English slang expression 'in your face'. I wonder if you could juggle the sentence around to incorporate it? I think 'bold' is also a possibility.

tough

Explanation:
