as a counterbalance Explanation: Susannes forslag er rigtig god - 'Sparring partners' ligeud passer fint i mange tilfælde. Der er andre metaforer fra teknikkens fremfor sportens verden: ' misses the interaction with colleagues as a counterbalance to his/her own daily work ' ' ... to fine-tune his/her own activities' 'the qualified exchange of ideas" Hentyder modspil til noget i retningen af 'constructive criticism' ? Der er mange muligheder, men det kommer meget an på den større sammenhæng. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2006-07-08 10:01:41 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Oddly enough, I heard the expression 'sparring partner' used in the UK by a college lecturer before I heard it in Denmark (some 30 years ago!!) - and before I knew its literal meaning. It came up in a text analysis, and I had to look it up! I would guess it has been around so long that it is understood on the other side of the pond, but try googling it and checking where websites originate from. |

challenger Explanation: challenger, opponent, competitor could fit here. (We are) missing the interaction between collegues, who could competantly challenge each other in daily activities. |
