The Danish Admiralty Office Explanation: You can find a definition of 'kommissariat' in Ordbog over det danske sprog (see the link below): 'forvaltningsenhed for hærens og flådens udstyr. Land og Søe-Etatens Commissariat. Holb.DNB.719. 77.Commissariat, den Afdeling af Marinebestyrelsen, der besørger alle Material-Anskaffelser.' As far as I know, this is pretty much what the format British Admiralty was doing for the Royal Navy. Hence, we don't need 'Søe', as it is already included in the definition of the Admiralty, and so is the meaning of 'Commissariat'. As for 'Contoir' (kontor), you can find a brief reference at the second URL posted. https://ordnet.dk/ods/ordbog?entry_id=61019918&query=commissariat&hi=commissariat,Commissariat https://books.google.de/books?id=sZYiAAAAQBAJ&pg=PA61&lpg=PA61&dq=%22contoir%22+%22kontor%22&source=bl&ots=pMlT3eAmeC&sig=ACfU3U0d1_FMDPKL7_ |
