Tæt ved ligger Egtvedpigens gravplads. Hun blev begravet i en ***egebulskiste*** ca. 1.370 år f. Kr. Hendes klæder er derfor nogle af verdens mest velbevarede – et informationscenter uddyber hele historien for de besøgende. -----

Hvad betyder det præcis? Jeg kan bruge den engelske oversættelse eller betydningen på dansk.

Oak coffin


Explanation:
Ege is a type of wood known as oak in english. This would fall in line with what could be used in the time too.

To Asker: Yes it does; if the conditions are right, the wood will be well preserved. Wood, even rotted wood, can hold its structure when in a static state for eons. It is an oak coffin, I have zero doubts about that.

An aditional note.
The other opinion has one thing right, how it could have been made. How ever, even if it is made out of a hollow tree trunk the same way that cannoes were made, it is still a coffin.
