I would like to translate "etableret" as "physical presence," and am looking for some feedback on the appropriateness of that.


The full sentence (from a Danish statute), reads:
"§ 45. Afgiftspligtige personer, der ikke er etableret her i landet, ikke er registreringspligtige..."

I would say that "Taxable entities without a physical presence in Denmark..." would sound better than the more litera; "Taxable entities not established in Denmark..."

However, "fost forretningssted" is usually translated to "physical presence" ("or a fixed place of business") -- so the question arrises if there needs to be some distinction between "etableret" and "fost forretningssted"?

This is one definition for the term etableret, but it doesn't resolve the meaning of the term as used in this particular sense in this particular statute.
I still think that "a physical presence" is what is meant here.
