a sand ridge Explanation: I can't find anything on "halebanke" in Danish that supports this, so this is all based on context... Could it be a ridge of sand that crosses the road - a tail out from the cliffs/rocks, with ridges/ripples on it? Would that make sense with what comes further on in your text?
