Danish term or phrase: kvik (US conventions)
I am translating information for herbicides and the client has stipulated strict adherence to US conventions and terminology. The term that I need help with is 'kvik', which I understand as 'couch grass', but I am aware that this may have another, more common name in the US.

Here is the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Couch_grass

Any suggestions warmly received!

Asker: Thanks Jens! Sadly I was never taught Latin at school, so thank you for your insight.

agree  Charles Ek: See also the use by the US EPA at http://tinyurl.com/9dl3gtq, pages 92 and 150. It's also the name I heard growing up in Minnesota. I've never heard "couch grass" used over here, but it's possible.

agree  Christine Andersen: Couch grass is the bane of many English gardeners... But the Latin names are a system you can learn to use with or without school Latin.
