Catalan term or phrase: Audiència

This is my first draft, but I am not sure about 'audiència', so haven't translated it:

Without prejudice to any possible ***audiències that may take place within the universities themselves, the Inter-University Council of Catalonia shall, via its Board, be accorded the consideration of an entity representative of the interests of the universities that constitute its membership, in relation to the ***tràmit d’audiència established by the procedural regulations of the Generalitat and by common administrative procedure.

I am tempted to use 'hearings' but am not sure that it would be suitable for this context, as it sounds very formal/legal, and maybe they just mean 'meetings'.

Explanation:
I agree wholeheartedly with your suggestion. It's the way I usually translate "audiència". In the second case, I'd say "hearing procedures".

To be honest, a hearing to my mind is less formal than proceedings, and it was bthe formality of 'audiéncia' that I felt was maybe excessive...a personal choice...thanks all:-)

Explanation:
Again, proceedings seems to cover it. You might have to jiggle your 2nd bit - "tramit d'audiencia" - about a bit though.
