Science - Geology / Hercynian ductile deformation
Catalan term or phrase: esquistositat de flux regional

I am not 100% sure about the best way to translate 'esquistositat de flux regional'. The text is about the stones from Estremoz (and the effects of Hercynian ductile deformation).

Many thanks in advance!

esquistositat

It seems that a distinction is sometimes made between "slaty cleavage" and "flow cleavage". Whereas in other cases they're treated as being synonymous:

Asker: Thanks, Ross - I was also thinking about translating this as some form of cleavage. But I hadn't come across slaty cleavage. Seems possible! I'll look at your references now.

agree  Andrew Campbell: While I it is always risky making equivalence between different languages use of a word, cleavage definitely sounds right in English.
