Explanation: Without further context I cannot be sure, but I don't think this implies that they are about to take out a loan, but rather that they are asking for an extension period for the terms of an existing loan. I can't remember the exact term, but I think this needs a phrase suggesting that the clauses of the loan covering non-payment are about to be made effective. I imagine the situation is that they have refused to pay it back for some reason, perhaps connected with a court case (querrellats) against the company. Now they seek some kind of moratorium to delay payment while the case continues. (However, this might be pure novelistic fantasy on my part :-) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 15 hrs (2006-03-15 21:18:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or they are about to take out a mortgage and they have some greavance against the company selling them the property and they wish to delay the moent when an impending mortgage comes into validity and they have to start paying it back. |
