Catalan term or phrase: les ha donat a conèixer en segments i públic a peu de carrer
This little phrase is giving me a headache. It seems to be poorly written, or I am not getting it. This is from a press release for a new fashion brand. The words segments is a mystery, and it seems it should say "al públic"

"Consolidada la marca, toca continuar creixent cap a un públic mainstream. Les col•laboracions amb empreses contribuiran a aquesta estratègia, ja que les ha donat a conèixer en segments i públic a peu de carrer. Avui ens han obert la seva botiga-taller del barri gòtic de Barcelona per explicar-nos com ho han aconseguit i aquests plans de futur."

My rough draft:
Collaborating with other companies is a key element of their strategy, and this has been communcated in the market and on the street.

recognition amongst the general public
Explanation:
The original mistake was probably "les ha donat a conèixer en segments del públic a peu de carrer" which doesn't make much sense. The general public isn't the general public if you are referring to certain sectors or groups of people. "Públic a peu de carrer" could also be translated as "the average consumer" but it doesn't make sense to say "segments". The original is badly written and you will certainly improve it.

Explanation:
Probably too late. But this is how I'd have handled that section:

"Having established the brand, it is now important to reach out to the general public. Recent collaborations with other firms have contributed to this strategy and have led to better brand recognition in the industry and among the general public".
