Bloody Journey (horrible/disgusting) Explanation: In here it doesn't have to refer to something full of blood or gore. "Bloody journey" is quite valid. The term 'bloody' is quite often used in common speech/conversation and usually refers to horrible/disgusting etc |

circuitious journey Explanation: I think that "bloody" makes little sense here. A calque on a British oath seems far fetched. Wehr gives the meaning of "move in a circle, turn, spin and revolve, for /DWM/ form II, which seems to fit the context. I can find no support for a adjectival form - checked Dozy and Hinds & Badawi.
