in the context of a soccer team in the iraqi club league, group 1:

presumably having to "wait" out the first games...but is there a technical term for this?

if its إنتصار its win , which I personally think is what the context is implying, on the other hand if its إنتظار then its wait, you have to see the whole context and decide. that's why i gave both wait and win depending on the original word.

agree  Ghada Samir: Yes, if it is" انتصار" , it makes more sense as it is said"حصل على..."so it's more likely to be "ENTEESAR" and not " ENTEEZAR", which means"wait or awaiting.."
