suspension of the Ship Manager Explanation: In Nile cruising floating hotels the chief of the personnel is the "ship manager" and we usually call him مدير المركب and not رئيس المركب even though it amounts to the same. The "captain" in this case is an ex-felucca ريس (navigating the Nile requires this kind of experience as the water level varies a lot according to place and season, and can be dangerous as the ship can and indeed does touch the bottom and capsize) and his job is limited to steering the boat.
