Arabic term or phrase: بناء خلفيات التفكير
This is in an article about Arab media, and at this point is discussing whether Arab media plays a role in disseminating conspiracy theories...I don't like "thinking backgrounds" or "backgrounds of thinking", they're meaningless to me as a native English speaker, but I'm struggling to come up with other ideas.

Deborah's suggestion was very interesting too -- I couldn't find it more than two or three times on google, but will use 'mindset' elsewhere. Thanks!

creating prejudice/stereotypes.

Explanation:
according to Webster's dictionary prejudice is: 1. an opinion formed before the facts are known, preconceived idea, usually one that is unfavorable. 2. an opinion held in disregard of fact that contradict it, unreasonable bias.
And stereotype is: a fixed idea or popular conception about how a certain type of person looks, acts, etc.
These are the words usually used in this context. By the way I'm a Mass Communication graduate.
