The Technical dictionary ( En > Ar ) translated the word (switch) as مفتاح كهربائى ..

I have also checked some (En > En) dictionaries to check whether we need to add the adjective (electric) to (switch) or not :
1) Merriam Webster : a device for making, breaking, or changing the connections in an electrical circuit
2)Cambridge : a small device, usually pushed up or down with your finger, that controls and turns on or off an electric current

So , it is obvious that (switch) is used with electrical circuits / electric current ; which in my viewpoint eliminates the need to add the adjective ..

Hope this helps
