Physician Explanation: It would be the equivalent of an MBBS in the UK, but there is no equivalent in the US. In the US, all physicians earn an MD whether they do a 4-year graduate medical school or 6-year undergraduate medical school. Licenciado en Medicina (or Medico Cirujano in some countries) is a general practitioner, i.e., a physician without a specialty. That's an MD in the US and an MBBS in the UK. SaludoZ! |

Degree in Medicine Explanation: Licenciado en Medicina = medical graduate (i.e. someone who graduated with a degree in medicine"). The equivalences may vary from country to country. https://catedrahestia.uic.es/en/la-catedra-en/who-we-are/ -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 mins (2021-04-15 10:33:22 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "An MBBS degree is an undergraduate course for aspirants who want to fulfil their dream of becoming a doctor. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), is a professional degree in medical science. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner." So, that sounds like an MD to me, but than again, I'm not an expert on US medical credentials. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 hrs (2021-04-16 08:05:41 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- NB: The person holding the degree is "licenciado/a" in Spanish. The degree per se is "licenciatura". https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Licenciatura "Degree in Medicine presented by the Rector de la Universidad Autonoma de Madrid" Example sentence(s):
