English translation: cited defects

Medical - Livestock / Animal Husbandry / article about veterinary traumatology
Spanish term or phrase: defectos titulares
The text is referring to different types of wound closure and in the section about secondary closure it states: "El tejido de granulación ayuda a controlar la infección y llena los defectos titulares." I think this is referring to granulation tissue filling in cavities but I can't find the correct meaning of "defectos titulares". Can anyone help please?

English translation:cited defects
Explanation:
As I understand it, it simply refers to the defects referred to in the heading or title of the document in question. "Titular" here could probably be translated as "aforementioned" or similar.

It could also be taken to mean simply "main/principal" defects...

Although I am grateful to the other answerers for giving me the correct translation for this term after checking with the client I discovered that Toni was in fact correct and it was a typo.

neutral  Toni Castano: Hi Neil (Happy New Year!). I don´t think it refers to "title/heading" or anything like that. It seems to be just a typo, "titulares" instead of the (correct) "tiSulares", i.e. "tissue defects". What do you think?

agree  neilmac: Similar to my second suggestion "main/principal" defects, but Toni's comment raises a valid doubt.
