Spanish term or phrase: Pago DA DO
SPAIN. I have no other context, unfortunately. It appears to be a string from billing software for a large French chain store, and is obviously some sort of payment, but I'm having trouble finding out what DA DO is. If it is an acronym, the original may be French or even English rather than Spanish, but I don't know. If I ask the client, they will take ages to respond, possibly months. Any suggestions welcome.

BTW, I know nothing about this subject and you are not asking for much, are you? I am sure there are many billing software with the only workable option you have given us being a "large French retail chain".

1) Has your usual rule of thumb that you do not do acronyms gone out the window?

I did come across an Oracle site: https://docs.oracle.com/apps/search/search.jsp?word=Disputed... with some options:

DA Disputed Amount /Difference Amount (this is so hard, as we have no idea what billing software is being used, and near impossible if the acronyms are in French, English or Spanish)!

Then for "Anulación DO", are you planning to use "void" for "anulación". What were your thoughts on this?

All above is pure speculation on my part.

A third option: DA > Deduction Amount
Also seen where "Anulación" > "Override".

I agree 100%. I don't want your client's name (didn't ask for it!), as I understand that is absolutely CONFIDENTIAL material and in any case, on this site, we are advised NOT to divulge "confidential" info. I respect that totally!

Asker: I don't normally "do" acronyms but this is my best client so I'm going the extra mile here. I usually translate "anulación" as "cancellation".

Asker: I don't want to name my client or their software brand name. The French chain is Galleries Lafayette.
