  -> Gracias, Victor. Propuse varias opciones porque no estoy segura que "salpicadero" se use en todas las variedades del español. En Argentina no lo he escuchado nunca (aquí le decimos "tablero").

Ten en cuenta que las cámaras suelen estar pegadas por debajo del retrovisor interior y no sobre el salpicadero.
